Nature continues to surround us out here in the country. Recently we have been watching an owl as it sits in a nearby tree looking for food. I love these opportunities to talk to Olivia about nature and science. One day after a recent citing I was asking her some questions. What were we watching outside yesterday morning? An owl. What was the owl doing? Looking for food. What do owls eat? Ham. (Seriously, she knew it was searching for a mouse. I have no idea where ham came from, but it got me to laugh!)
This picture was taken by Pat. When we saw it land he got out the camera to see how close he could get to it. He was less than 10 yards away before it took off.
