MN Valley

We were smart to have snuck in many of our fall fun plans prior to the chill in the air.  Last weekend we crossed another item off of our list and hiked at a local park.  We went to MN Valley in Jordan.  We started with a picnic lunch which was so nice to enjoy at our secluded picnic table.  We chose to hike the trail marked for horseback riding.  The trail was nice, although mostly like walking on a sandy beach because of the flooding in the spring time.  The river level was down, so we were able to walk out to a part of the shore for further exploring.  The kids did so well!  Henry in his backpack carrier was content munching on an apple almost the whole time, and taking in the sites, including the horses.  Olivia was such a trooper walking the whole way!  She never whined or complained, only asking to stop for a rest to sit on a log for a few minutes.  She even went potty in the woods!  I was fully prepared for a meltdown moment when she was told that's what she'd have to do, but she had no problem with it at all!  It was a great family day!  We're eager to go back again!

Henry again demonstrating his photography skills.
Watching the horses!

Carried this bucket the whole time, collecting "treasures".
