You know what my big-hearted girl wanted to do for her birthday? Donate her hair. I'm so proud that's something she wanted to do, and adore her new short hair. (And the fact that it takes 5 seconds to comb it in the morning instead of 5 minutes!)
We started off her birthday morning with the usual donut treat. Her birthday landed on a Friday, so while she went off to school, I was able to see her at lunch. She got all kinds of sweet attention with her new hair. After school we headed to the cabin to spend the weekend with my mom's side of the family. We swung by Perkins for a birthday dinner and free slice of pie. (I would have wanted somewhere nicer, but that's what we could find and Olivia loved the place anyway.) It was pretty late by the time we got there so it was soon to bed. The next days were filled with winter cabin fun: snowmobiling, ice fishing, reading, games, hot cocoa...
Olivia and her friend Abby went to Manic Ceramic for a little fun birthday treat. They both painted matching puppies. We grabbed a treat at DQ too.
