We don't spend much on our own kids for Christmas. This year they each got one gift, in addition to a bag of books to share. I don't like Santa to get all the glory, so we got them each a gift that was high on their wish list. A remote control monster truck for Henry and a guitar for Olivia. They were a big hit!
On Christmas Eve we celebrated at Tom and Kari's house. The food was once again, divine! We enjoyed a game of dice where Henry proved to have awesome luck. The whole evening was pretty normal for a Clark gathering... gifts, wii, watching youtube videos of rams, launching legit fireworks...
Christmas morning was filled with our normal traditions: opening stockings, eating monkey bread, and attending mass.
We then dined at Grandma and Grandpa Sticha's house. Again, we opened gifts. There were even gifts for the dogs. Olivia was so proud to give some "sock puppets" she had crafted for Oliver and Henry way back in July. Brooke and Ryan taught us all how to play poker, which was a blast. A highlight of the evening was the kids' nativity play. They spent ALL day and evening preparing for it. There were two versions (so Olivia and Savannah could each play the parts of Mary and the Angel). Henry was Joseph, and Oliver was intended to be Baby Jesus, but mostly was just in and out of a few scenes. Of course, Katelyn was a donkey again this year. We are always in tears of laughter as the kids put on this show. Another blessed Christmas for the books.
