Olivia's 9th Birthday

I have a feeling Olivia is going to be a party planner when she grows up. Her birthday celebrating request was American Girl Doll themed and she planned most of it herself. We invited her friend Abby and cousin Savannah to join us for a little shopping at the American Girl Doll store at the MOA and lunch at the bistro. We hadn't ever been to either, so it was very fun. It was so cute seeing how excited they were about every little detail from the elevator ride, to the bathrooms, and everything in-between.

When we got home, Olivia opened gifts and then the girls were off to play with their dolls. They created such elaborate plans with playing school with them I hated to call them to stop for dinner. Olivia requested strawberry jello cake for dessert.

Then the girls snuggled in to watch an American Girl Doll movie before heading to bed. I loved how each food we had, the dolls had a mini-version themselves. Even if it meant Olivia making it herself. She made pieces of cake, containers of popcorn, and even donuts for the morning. (Made of cheerios with nail polish frosting.)

She used her birthday money to buy Kit's reporter kit and her dog, Grace.

After going to church with the girls, we attended the Fireman's breakfast in town with some family and hung out at home for the afternoon. Pat built a rocket with Olivia and they launched a few rockets too. Then Grandma and Grandpa Sticha came by for a Chinese food dinner.

All in all, it was a super fun weekend. Hard to believe Olivia is 9 already, and as Pat pointed out, she could be half-way though her years of living with us.
