Castle Rock is an iconic image to the U.P., as are the rock formations along the shore. They are known for the various horizonal stripes of color. We were also impressed by the aqua blue, crystal-clear water. Once again, the sands were perfect for sand castle creations. One beach we found was also plentiful with really unique rocks. Our main day of exploring here happened to be my birthday. It was wonderful to spend it adventuring with my family and not cooking/cleaning one bit. We finished the evening with dinner at a charming book store/coffee shop, listening to live music, and of course, ice cream.
Michigan, you were beautiful. We will be back.

Wow, what a trip!! Stunning photos too.
And I'm still so amazed at how wonderful your timer family photos turn out. :)
What an adorable family.
And now I'm drooling over the idea of cherry ice cream!
