Today we surprised the kids with a puppy! We've known for a while now that we wanted to get a puppy. We thought of doing it last summer, but the timing wasn't right. We've been keeping our eye out this spring, but due to Covid 19, many people are in the market for dogs right now, so pickings have been slim! Then this sweetie became available, and Pat jumped at the opportunity. We found out at lunch time that she'd be in our home by evening. She's a 9 week old boxer that we named Lily, after my grandma.
Pat picked her up and brought her home. The kids and I were outside and when we came in, Pat was sitting on the couch with her. It was so fun seeing the kids realize the surprise and gush over her! She's been a dream so far... She likes to crawl right into your lap to cuddle and sleep.
Tucker seems to be carrying on like normal. He's a bit too old to romp around and play with her, but he doesn't seem to mind her either. Mabel on the other hand will have a bit more of an adjustment. So far there has been a lot of growling and hissing from her. She'll adjust. Hopefully.
