Henry’s Birthday

Henry's birthday celebrations began right after we celebrated Easter with the Tuma side. Since we were already in Northfield for that, we planned to celebrate his birthday with a little family fun at Katelyn and Donovan's new gym space. They have a batting cage that Henry was eager to try. We supplied sandwich fixings, chips, drinks, and Olivia's yummy cereal cupcakes. We took turns in the batting cage. I personally realized that it's a lot harder than it looks!

On his actual birthday, he got homemade doughnuts. He opened up his gifts throughout the day- OLD computer we got for free from the school, books, clothes, and a round of minigolf we'll play when it warms up. For dinner he requested El Tequila, a Mexican restaurant here in town that we hadn't tried yet.

Henry had his first ever friend birthday gathering. He invited his good buddy Anthony from school and his friend Aiden. First, we went bowling. I was surprised to actually have gotten the highest score in the family! Not bad considering the last time we went was over 8 years ago! Then we had dinner at Fishtail. I was shocked at how much those boys could put away! Not Henry though... At dinner he started to feel sick... Chills, sore throat, etc. We got him some meds and he rallied through opening gifts from friends at home, Nerf fights, and ping pong. Just as the boys were winding down to sleep, Henry came up to our room and threw up. :( We got him comfortable in his room, notified his friends and their parents, and went to sleep. In the morning I made breakfast for the boys (minus Henry) and we brought the boys home. Really sad to have spoiled Henry's celebration. We are planning on having the boys over this summer for a little redemption.
