Charleston, SC

 

Charleston sc is a beautiful place ful of kind helpful people. Recently I went there with both of my grandmothers. My grandma clark always takes her grand children on a trip when they are eight or nine. My trip was delayed because of covid and other things. We arrived at the airport at around 8:45 in the morning and we took a connecting flight to atlanta georgia. Then we hoped on a plane to Charlseton SC. we took an uber to our hotel. it was our first time using uber, so it took a while, but all the drivers were very kind and helpful. We spent the remainder of the night at the hotel and went eating out at an old rustic resteraunt. When we got back we planned what we would see when. The next day was our first stop, and personally my favorite. The uss Yorktown, and the uss laffey. The Laffey was a destroyer in the second world war, which was struck by three Japanese kamikazes. It somehow survived and is now displayed at patriots point. The uss Yorktown was a aircraft carrier through the second world war to the vietnam war. they have about 20 aircraft on display. I enjoyed it so much! Afterwards we checked out the vietnam expirience with sound affects and historicaly accurate barracks and hospital. Then when we were done we took an uber to a resteraunt were we met with a friend of ours who lived in the city. Another thing we saw on our escond day there was the battery were Charleston was defended by huge cannons and mortars. We then walked to the famous Rainbow Row. it was a very busy attraction but I thought it looked like apackage of easter skittles. Next we saw the beautiful magnolia plantation. we got a tour of the house and walked around the gardens for a while. I even saw a alligator swimming in the pond! While we were in town we checked out the towns market and then ate at a place calle dHenry's. Then at night we took a walking ghost tour. we saw the place were Blackbeard murdered three people. The place seems very haunted but i dont believe in ghosts. We decided to see the charlston museum which was full of cool artifacts. We had a horse carrage ride of the town and the tour guide was very nice. then i stopped at alocal pet shop to get a toy for my dog Lily. On the last day we decided to do a speed boat tour of the charlston harbor. It was very wavy but luckily we had a guide who was ver expirienced. We checked out the museum based on fort sumpter the famous "shot that was heard around the world" that started the civil war. I love icecream and wanted to try a local place called buzzed bull creamery. they used special liquid nitrogen to make the ice cream so it got all foggy inside. I got a non alcoholic ice cream that tasted like a frappuchino with some hazel nut and caramel. The icecream was the best icecream i have had and thats saying something. one day we drove out to the angel oak tree. It is about 400 years old and is predicted to live another 900 years. It was absolutly huge.On the last day we decided to hit up Folly beach. It was a huge beautiful beahc with a massive pier. after that we headed into the nearest town and ordered she crab soup, mahi mahi filled tacos, and flunder filled with crab. We headed out to the airport ealry the last day. We navigated laguardia airport and then finally arrived at home. All in all it was a wondeful fantastic trip. eull of suprises and learning. I couldnt thank my grandmothers enough for taking me but i will thank them as much as i can!.
