Progress

Ugh! Some do-it-yourselfer jobs prove to be tougher than others. Recently we put in the in-floor heat in the basement and shakes on the garage ourselves. Both were a piece of cake compared to the stone work on the pillars we attempted this weekend. An hour into it and we were ready to call a contractor to see how much it would cost to have them come do it for us. We bucked up and kept trudging through. With the help of my brother Ryan they turned out wonderful!

These pictures show what the house looks like today. The pillars will soon have the top portions constructed, and the front door is just an old construction door for now. Once the house is complete a red door will go in its place. The siding will also get completed this week along with the well and septic going in.

The inside is sheetrocked, with mudding and taping finished also. The ceiling just got the finish put on it yesterday. On the inside the work for us is really going to get going. We will be priming and painting this week and next. In addition we will be getting started on the flooring. If you don't see or hear from us in a while, you know why! :)
