We couldn't have been more excited when spring break came this year! No big fancy plans at all, and that suited us just fine. My goal: Do something fun and something productive each day. And that we did... For the most part. Our spring break:
| Silly play time in a wash bin of Easter eggs. |
| This guy loves his story time. |
| Play date with friends! |
| Banana bread helper. He seriously helped. I was shocked! |
| Special time with Aunt Katelyn. |
| Spring time walk! (Henry was wet up to his knees when we were done. Oh well, he owns rain boots now! |
Easter was a wonderful celebration. Mass up in the church balcony, brunch with Clark's, dinner with Sticha's. Lots of nice family time and super yummy food!
| So excited to find her basket! |
| Loving up the dump truck he got in his Easter basket from Grandma and Grandpa Clark. |
Escaped to Como Zoo and Conservatory. Gorgeous flowers as always. The weather was nice enough to enjoy our walks between the animal buildings. Hands-down our favorite was watching the polar bears. They were so active, it looked like one was showing off for us!
Mix all this fun with productive things like cleaning out closets, under sinks, organizing oodles of art supplies, preparing for Henry's birthday party, and relaxing with Pat in the evening (Watching Parenthood Season 1 on DVD), it was about as perfect as it could be. Until 11:15 on Thursday night. When Pat got a call that his dad had a heart attack. More on that later...
We still had some super fun plans on our schedules, but time with Pat's dad took #1 priority. Pat was going to have his last day of work at his job on Friday. He was going to come home early and we were going to celebrate by going out for ice cream. Saturday was going to bring Henry's 2nd birthday party. Sunday I was going to go to the Bon Jovi concert with my future sister-in-law.
While things didn't turn out how I expected, things are better now. For that I'm so thankful, and having Pat's dad's health back with us is 100 times better than any ice cream, party, or concert.

Glad you guys could enjoy the break and have some fun. So sorry to hear about your father-in-law but happy to hear he is doing better. Thinking of you guys!
