Our spring break has been pretty mellow with no major plans. With Pat off on Tuesdays though we did want to take advantage of that to spend a day together doing something fun. We decided to head to the Minnesota History Museum in St. Paul. It turned out to be a great decision! We could have done with a few hundred less field trip kids running around, but otherwise it was a great experience for the whole family. Lots of interactive learning things for the kids, and interesting history for the adults to soak up.
Some highlights:
I enjoyed making connections to the Little House books Olivia and I are reading, like having her try to lift this ice block...
And finding things from my childhood were fun too, like the memory of making sausage in my grandparents' basement using a machine like this...

This guy liked watching the trucks take down trees...
And drill in the iron mine...
When we were through we decided a stop at the Cathedral would be nice. We paused to eat a lunch we packed from home and then walked around the beautiful Cathedral. Pictures certainly don't do it justice!
Olivia enjoyed the Mary section...
Memories made and our adventure filled just in time for nap time. It was a good day!

Yay for a new blog post! Looks like you're having a nice spring break. I don't recall ever getting to watch G&G make sausage...must not have been that lucky! :)
