Easter

We began our Easter celebrations with attending the Easter Vigil at St. Wence. It was a beautiful service and the kids did such a good job. One woman even said to us after mass how impressed she was that the kids did so well. It was a 2 1/2 hour service, but even with coming home late we dug into some cake before bed. 

Olivia was excited to be busy in the kitchen again this holiday. She made an egg shaped fruit pizza that was a hit with the Tuma family gathering. She also made our traditional lamb cake that came from my Grandma Tuma. It was executed perfectly, with no decapitation this year!

Easter morning brought the hunt for Easter baskets. Both kids searched for quite a while and did need hints to eventually find them. The bunny brought candy and a jump rope and book for each of them. Pat made french toast for breakfast which was delicious!

The early afternoon was spent in Lonsdale celebrating with the Tumas for brunch, and the later afternoon was spent with the Clarks for grilling dinner. Tom and Kari's family was in Florida this year, so it was just Mike, Mary, Sister Bernice, and Ethan. We were supposed to bring an angel food cake for dessert, but since it failed me this time, we stopped by DQ for dilly bars instead. The kids got baskets from Clarks which included lots of clothing, a fancy marker set for Olivia, and a light-up LEGO set for Henry.

Probably a highlight of the day was fooling Aunt Dorothy with the whoopee cushion Henry got for his birthday. It gave us all plenty of laughs!
