Yesterday we enjoyed a nice low-key birthday party with family. We had a nice summery meal of sloppy-joes, potato sald, beans, chips, and fruit. For dessert we feasted on chocolate-banana monkey cupcakes. (That's about as much Martha Stewart as I have in me.)
Olivia didn't even have any sugar yet when it was time to open gifts, but she insisted on spinning... A LOT! She must have realized she was the center of attention and wanted to make people laugh. I took us quite a while to get her interested in opening the rest of her gifts. If you look closely in the picture, you can see a touch of an orange skirt Grandma and Grandpa Clark gave her. Upon opening the gift, she insisted on wearing it right then and there. So, we put it on under her party dress and it stayed that way all night.
Her favorite gifts include her new outfit, a flip-the-flaps book from Great Grandma, an alpha-bug Leapfrog toy from Grandma and Grandpa Sticha, a home-made high chair for her baby from Grandma and Grandpa Clark, and a tea set from her Aunt Kari, Uncle Tom, and cousins.
