Well, sometimes things go perfectly- just how you want them to. Other times... Not so much. Our 2011 visit to Santa was a perfect example. I went into it thinking it would go so well. Olivia would now be on her 4th visit with Santa. She has done really well each time, and we have been able to see the same Santa at the same location each time, which we really enjoy. He's super friendly, and doesn't at all want to scare the kids. He'll kind of hang around from a distance till they warm up to him. He doesn't want to see the kids cry, so they don't end up being fearful of Santa in the future.
This year, Olivia put on her stubborn face (She gets that from her father), and was under no condition going to sit on Santa's lap. I know she was just SO tired. This girl gets crabby when she's tired, and she hadn't had a chance to nap the past few days.
Oh well! We had Henry get up close to check out Santa, but it didn't seem right grabbing a picture of just him. My camera strap stayed around my shoulder the entire time. Fortunately, a worker from the reality office where we were at took some photos for us and sent them to us. Nothing "frame-worthy", but keepsakes nonetheless. Memories of how our Santa visit went this year. We already e-mailed the kids' list to the North Pole anyway, so a personal visit wasn't really necessary, right?
