Halloween Weekend Fun!

We all had such a blast this past Halloween weekend! Festivities started Friday night with the annual ECFE Halloween Fun Night. Local girl scout troops run age appropriate games for pre-school aged kids, staff from EFCE put together a fun story time, and kids get a goody bag at the end of the night. Olivia dove right into the games, proud to earn a sicker for each activity she did.

Saturday Grandpa and Grandma Clark braved having all the grandkids over for the night! When we dropped Olivia off, she and Grandma finished the blanket they have been working on together. It was fun seeing Olivia participate in a complicated craft like sewing a quilt, but Grandma was really able to include her in a lot of the steps. Next they were headed to the Anoka Halloween parade. Combine the fun of cousins, pizza, and movies, and Olivia had so much fun!

While Olivia had her fun, Pat and I celebrated our 8 year "date-iversary" (When we went on our first date back in college!). We celebrated with going to Let's Dish, so we could prepare some easy meals to whip up on days when we are feeling too exhausted to do anything else. It was fun and easy to do. We're excited to give them a test-run at home to see if it's worth doing again in the future. We also did some mattress shopping, ate out for Chinese, rented Date Night, and just enjoyed some down time without a 2 1/2 year old to care for.

Halloween night we took Olivia to a few houses in a neighborhood. I was impressed by how well she clearly said "Trick or Treat" and "Thank you" at each house! We went to a few homes of relatives and headed home for the night.

It was such a nice treat to have a weekend with something fun for everyone! Silly as it is, one of my highlights was having a brainstorm for what the kids will be next Halloween... Let's hope we still have one more year where Olivia goes with the flow and isn't too opinionated! :)
