Pinecone Birdfeeders

For my dad's birthday, I thought it would be fun for Olivia and I to make him some pinecone birdfeeders.  He enjoys watching birds, so these would be the perfect addition to the feeders he already has on his deck. 

First we harvested some pinecones, and tied string at the tops.

Then we spread the peanut butter.  (Olivia had the urge to lick her fingers every time peanut butter got on them.  I can't blame her, but still, yuck.)

And covered them with birdseed.

Ta da!  The finished product!  (I'm not sure why Olivia's making this face!)

They are hanging on their deck right now.  We have a few extra we'll have to put up around here so Olivia can see them in action.  (Hopefully.)
