Dozinky!

Our town's annual fall celebration-- Dozinky!  A time for an old fashioned car cruise, a very chilly picnic of pizza with friends, me gabbing with the girls, and Pat chatting it up with the boys (while also sneaking some "outlawed" adult beverages), and Olivia playing with her friends.  Playing their version of tag, and rolling down the hill till it got dark.  A wonderful night, followed by...  A beautiful day.
Olivia and I scurried down main street to fill our arms with lunch time grub... dumpling, pork sandwich, vomachka, and bread pudding.  A hike through the street balancing it all to our spot on the curb where friends staked out a spot with blankets in front of the library.  Pat and Henry were already situated, and Olivia and I arrived just as the parade was starting.  Great parade with LOTS of candy.  Beautiful sun, and once again, great friendships.  I loved watching Olivia and her girl friends share candy with each other.  (Like any of them needed more!)  A stroll through the park (Where Olivia narrowly missed getting peed on by a boy playing above her.) and a stop to watch some firemen play a game wrapped up our day.  Chilly compared to the balmy Dozinky of 2009, but still so fun!
