We were invited by our sweet friends, the Guse's, for a 4th of July celebration. It landed on the 3rd of July, since that's when their community of Lonsdale was shooting off the fireworks. Boy do they know how to throw a party! I was amazed by the patriotic details and planning that went into the event! They are very generous friends indeed.
Here are some of the highlights of the day/evening:
If we wouldn't have made him, Henry would have never gotten off this John Deere.
Olivia had a pattern of jumping in the kiddie pool, going into the bouncy house, down the slide, repeat, repeat, repeat.
A family member even led a craft to make patriotic sail boats!
One of my highlights was sending off these Chinese Lanterns. It was so generous of the Guse's to get one for each family to send off.
One final highlight for me was cuddling up with the kids to watch the fireworks. Wrapped under a blanket it just feels so sweet curling up with them. Especially when Henry says "Hold you", because he wants to be held because he's a tiny bit scared. Really, both kids seemed to enjoy the fireworks though, it was a good show with a great view, and sweet friends to spend the time with.
On the actual 4th, we spent almost the entire day at the pool. Grilling for both lunch and dinner, it was great to enjoy the day in the sun with family.
