T-Ball, Art, and Nature Camp

This summer Olivia was signed up for a few activities.  Each were smaller time commitments so we didn't feel bogged down, but had a few new scheduled things to look forward to.  They were great opportunities for her to be with new kids (not long enough to establish long term friendships, but still good as she learns how to interact with new people to prepare her for school), have an adult to listen to (other than her parents), and explore a variety of interests.

 

First up was t-ball.  She participated in this program last year and it went well, so we did it again.  A very informal set-up practicing batting, catching/throwing, and running bases.  An added bonus was the park right there where the kids would play, and having her buddy Abby there too.

Next was an art camp, held for two days from 9:30-12 at a local school.  This was right up her ally, as she could easily spend hours doing art each day.  She came home with some sweet looking projects, and enjoyed her time there.  While she was at camp, Henry and I enjoyed some one-on-one shopping time together.

 

Finally, Olivia did a nature camp for three days from 9-12 a Cedar Lake Farm.  She learned about insects, explored the water with nets, made a few crafts, and played large motor games with the group.  She loves exploring and isn't afraid to do things like pick up frogs, so I knew she would enjoy this too.  With it right at the beach, it was fun to plan a picnic and play date there for when she was done with camp.  Abby and Olivia had fun swimming and showing off how brave they were in the deeper water.  Abby even taught Olivia how to doggie paddle!  I only wish we could have stayed longer, but the little ones needed naps!
