4th of July Celebrations

This weekend we sure celebrated the 4th with many exciting events. A trip to Northfield for their Farmer's Market and Art Fair was a wonderful way to start our weekend. It's such a historic town, and was filled with character. We strolled down the river front, feeding the ducks, munching on "Martha's" AMAZING cinnamon rolls, listening to music from folk singers, and finding some adorable gifts for Pat's nieces. We hit up main street shops and found ourselves laughing at some gift cards. Pat's fav.: "If we were zombies, I'd let you eat my brains." Awe, so romantic! We also enjoyed a yummy lunch at Hogan Brothers. It was such a lovely day, and way to spend a morning as a family. We're excited to go back again sometime this summer!



The Teddy Bear Band was in town! We met up with some friends to enjoy the show. Abby and Olivia were on the reserved side. Shocking! But, they warmed up to a song where they continually tossed their teddy bears up in the air.


We also enjoyed some pool time, and the weather has finally been perfect for it! Olivia discovered a new way to play with an old toy; blowing in the end of a fun noodle to squirt out water. Poor dear was a little discouraged when she learned her lungs weren't strong enough to get the water out!


This was the first year we took Olivia to see fireworks. We kept it low-key with just watching them from the High School parking lot in our car. (Avoiding crowds, and mosquitoes.) She loved them at first, and wasn't the least bit scared. However, after about 10 minutes or so she lost interest.

Finally, on the 4th, we spent the day with Pat's parents in Anoka. It's so fun watching them play and interact with the kids. We're blessed to have such loving family in our lives. And we're blessed to have this freedom, and time to spend it together. What a wonderful 4th!
